Canonpoint: Book 3 Ch16: mid Kingsmeet

Wish: “I desire all the pieces to be in place for Damianos of Akleios to gain unobstructed access to two things: kingship of Akleios, and significant control over the affairs of Vere.”

Result: His boyfriend gets Two Whole Thrones served to him on two silver platters

Damianos of Akleios finds, inexplicably, a whole stash of evidence exposing both Laurent's uncle and his own half-brother for underhanded throne-stealing. Everyone is so angry they oust the two immediately. By default Damian gets his country’s throne; inexplicably existent is also a faked ‘will’ found with a dead doppelganger Laurent that gives Damen a place on Vere’s high council.

Weapon: Sword. An aquamarine gemstone is inlaid into the hilt; otherwise the sword is entirely plain steel.

Outfit: A frock-coat with subtle embroidery on the sleeves and hem; it's in this grey rather than black in that ref photo, with the laces and embroidery in a slightly lighter grey. Under the coat it's what you see in the second ref pic, i.e. mostly dark formal clothes with buttons in silver.

Laurent wears his Soul Gem on a gold bangle, on his left wrist. The Gem itself is sky blue; the same color as his eyes. 

Powers

» Passive ability - Anyone near him will feel more calm and focused. This can help them think through puzzles and dampen any mind-altering magic. Laurent himself gets no benefit.

» Active ability - Gambit - Telekinesis. At the cost of significant physical pain to himself, Laurent can haul things from one point to another as long as the target and its desired endpoint are both in his field of vision. In a day he can move a maximum mass equaling that of a small car (4-seater. pls do not encourage him to throw cars he will pass out immediately), to a maximum of 20ft per shift (for a human-sized target. Any bigger can only go 10ft.)

He has no control over the trajectory of the movement. Objects travel in a straight line as if pulled by a force towards the endpoint, bashing through whatever it can physically demolish (or just… stopping if it can’t) if there are obstacles.

» Accessory - Nicaise - A single earring of dangling sapphires. When worn, the wearer becomes unnoticed by living things around them to varying degrees. Wearing the earring activates its effect and drains magic constantly, regardless of if the wearer wants to use its power. A full gem will power the earring for five straight minutes; though past 2.5 using other abilities along with the earring's magic will produce weaker effects.

Living beings will struggle or fail to sensor-ily perceive Laurent's presence, but he will still show up as normal on mirror projections, photos, cctv footage, etc.
 
» Active ability - Pas de Chat - Summoning of ice spears, which are meant to be thrown & drain his telekinesis less. Each spear has an individual cooldown of 1hr. He can summon at most 4, either individually or simultaneously. On impact, the shaft collapses inwards to create a patch of ice for extra freeze damage. Oh, also: everything under this power sparkles. 

 

Tier two: He can summon other ice items now, as long as they have equal or less mass than up to 4 spears. Ice throwing knives, ice figurines etc. will count as using up one spear; larger items will use up additional spears.

»  IC permissions: Fights are fine, contact me if you want to inflict serious injuries. Laurent is historically bad with romance for Reasons, if you want to try also talk to me....? Considering this game is 90% minors I doubt this will be a problem. 

» OPT-OUTS: Please comment below if you want to opt out of any of the following:

- Laurent's telekinesis. I've figured how to avoid godmodding but if you don't want him to try it on your magi at all, hmu 

- Mentions of slavery, sexual topics etc. Slavery and sanctioned prostitution is a thing in his verse, although he's against both. I don't see why he'd bring this up at all in this setting but if you want to tell me before you're Not Okay with these topics, hmu too

- Laurent himself. On the best of days he's mean, I understand if anyone is uncomfortable with unnecessarily provocative personal remarks about their muses.
